Morning everyone,
Just a quick acknowledgement that today is National Sorry Day, and we’re also currently in National Reconciliation Week.
It’s an important time to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and the history of this country — especially in a region like ours where so much of life revolves around being outdoors and on Country.
Today’s safety refresher is around slips, trips, and general housekeeping.
Please remember:
• Keep walkways, exits, and doorways clear at all times
• Don’t leave boxes, ladders, trolleys, or stock in customer walkways
• Clean up spills promptly or place signage around them until cleaned
• Keep personal items and drinks out of work areas where possible
• Report damaged flooring, loose mats, or hazards as soon as you notice them
We’ve also recently installed “Keep Clear” signage in front of the power boxes. As instructed by Horizon Power, these areas must remain clear at all times and cannot be used for stock, hangers, trolleys, or storage.
A lot of workplace injuries and safety risks come from simple hazards and cluttered areas, so staying aware of the spaces around us makes a big difference.
If anyone has noticed any hazards around their department lately, please raise them today.
