How to receive parcels, pallets and check for damage.
Receiving a Delivery
When a delivery arrives:
- Check that the number of cartons matches the delivery paperwork where practical.
- Inspect all cartons for visible signs of damage before signing for the delivery.
- Look for:
- Crushed corners
- Tears or holes
- Water damage
- Broken straps
- Open cartons
- Forklift damage
- Any other obvious signs of mishandling.
If damage is found:
- Photograph the damaged carton before opening it.
- Clearly write "Damaged Delivery" (or similar wording) on the freight consignment note before signing.
- Notify the manager immediately.
Never sign that freight has been received in good condition if visible damage exists.
Always sign using your own name when receiving deliveries.
Deliveries Addressed to Natasha Ambroziak
Most deliveries addressed to Natasha Ambroziak are business stock, supplier samples or special orders and should be opened as part of the normal receiving process.
Small parcels should be opened by the front counter staff, checked and allocated to the appropriate department or manager.
If a parcel appears to be a personal delivery or you are unsure whether it should be opened, contact Natasha before proceeding.
Handling Deliveries
After receiving freight:
- Move large deliveries to the designated receiving area near the rear roller door, and notify their department.
- Keep customer walkways, emergency exits and fire equipment clear at all times.
- Small parcels should be opened and allocated to the appropriate department as soon as practical.
- Do not leave deliveries sitting unopened unless directed by a manager.
Refrigerated & Frozen Deliveries
Perishable products, including bait, must be unpacked and placed into the appropriate refrigerator or freezer immediately after delivery.
Customer Repairs & Returns
Customer-owned items, including fishing reels and equipment returned for servicing, warranty or repair, must never be left outside or in unsecured areas.
These items should be taken directly to the designated repair or warranty area to prevent loss, theft or damage.
Inspecting Stock
All deliveries should be unpacked and inspected as soon as practical after arrival.
Check for:
- Damaged products
- Missing items
- Incorrect quantities
- Incorrect products
If any issues are found:
- Take photographs of the outer carton, internal packaging (where relevant), the damaged product and any shipping labels.
- Report the issue to management immediately.
- Do not dispose of cartons or packaging until management has confirmed they are no longer required.
Reporting Timeframes
- Freight damage should be reported within 48 hours of delivery unless the supplier specifies a shorter timeframe.
- Missing, short or incorrect stock should be identified during the receipting process and reported to management as soon as it is is discovered, preferably within 7 days of delivery.
Failure to report issues within the supplier's required timeframe may result in credits or replacements being declined.
Wilson Fishing
Wilson Fishing requires freight damage to be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
If Wilson Fishing stock is damaged:
- Notify management immediately.
- Take photographs of:
- The damaged carton (if applicable).
- The damaged product.
- Management will contact Wilson Fishing:

Failure to report freight damage within Wilson Fishing's required timeframe may result in the claim being declined.
Forklift Operations
Pallet deliveries may require the use of a forklift.
Only authorised Karratha Adventure Sports staff may operate the company forklift.
Current authorised operators are:
- Natasha
- Chelsea
- Lisa
- Liam
Delivery drivers may:
- Use their own forklift; or
- Operate the Karratha Adventure Sports forklift only after producing a current forklift licence and with management approval.
At the end of each trading day, management is responsible for ensuring any pallets or freight stored outside are brought inside or otherwise secured.
Incorrect Deliveries
If goods are delivered that are not addressed to Karratha Adventure Sports:
- Do not open the parcel or carton.
- Notify a manager immediately.
- The manager will arrange for the freight company or supplier to collect or redirect the delivery.
Outgoing Mail
All outgoing mail should be placed in the designated outgoing mail tub at the front counter.
Mail may be taken to the Post Office during paid work time or voluntarily during a staff member's lunch break. Staff who choose to deliver the mail during their lunch break may extend their lunch break by 5 minutes, or leave work 5 min early.
Mail should be placed into the Australia Post mail baskets located on the right-hand side counter inside the Post Office.
Freight Pickups
If a pallet or other freight has been booked for collection:
- The front counter staff must be advised that a pickup has been scheduled.
- Ensure the freight is packed, labelled and ready for collection before the scheduled pickup time where practical.
- If the freight company arrives while the responsible staff member is unavailable, the front counter staff can direct the driver to the pickup or notify the appropriate department.
